Born and raised in El Paso TX Daniel Villasenor has been playing piano for the majority of his life since the age of 3. Daniel grew up taking piano lessons from Mrs. Barbara Hain with classical training. Throughout the years he played in several solo festivals scoring 1's was the piano accompanist in his high school choir and jazz band. He was awarded the J.O. and Marlene Stewart Foundation Scholarship for piano received his Bachelor's degree in Theater Performance with a Minor in Film. Outside of his school time he volunteered to perform for the viewing of a documentary In New Mexico about the Bataan Death March called "Sons of Liberty" narrated by Gene Hackman with guest speaker Senator Pete Domenici in December 2003.
Daniel joined local ska band Fixed Idea from 2010 to 2018. During his tenure the band toured a few years play local and out of town festivals won Best Local Original Band 2 years in a row from 2012-2013. After his departure in 2018 he has been getting back to his roots and began composing his own original works and has played several local venues music festivals and events. He now performs with cumbia band Frontera Bugalu over the past 5 years. They signed with Epidemic Sound in November 2022 and filmed a music video in Xochimilco Mexico for the song 'Sácame A Bailar'.
In March 2024 he was one of 3 pianists selected out of 20 artists to perform out in London for World Piano Day and was just had a performance at the Philanthropy Theater at The Plaza Theater for The Jewel Box Series. His influences range from classical composers such as Beethoven Chopin Rachmaninoff and Liszt along with film composers such as James Horner John Williams and Danny Elfman.
