About this Event
An hour of science jokes from a hilarious group of scientists turned stand-up comedians. From performing in Antarctica to on top of active volcanoes, these internationally touring comics will crack you and the earth's crust up. Expect a ridiculous, raunchy, and informative night that will leave your brain and abs hurting from laughter. This nerdy yet approachable comedy show is so well-rounded, we’re being protested by the flat earth society.
Featuring:
Ben Miller is a materials scientist turned comedian who has been working for the past 8 years. He's performed in the New York Comedy Festival and at comedy clubs, theatres, and planetariums internationally. In 2022, Ben Miller's debut hour, Stand-Up Science, had a completely sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and toured 50+ cities internationally. In 2023, he was an Artist in Residence at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, the first ever stand-up comedian selected by the National Parks Arts Foundation.
Kasha Patel is a former NASA scientist who has done everything from roasting the planets to telling jokes in the freezing cold of Antarctica. She is one of the top science comedians in the world, featured on BBC, NPR, and several TV networks. She is well-known for her TEDx talk, "Sneaking Science into Stand-up," where she analyzed 500 of her jokes to find the best performing punchline. You can see her at one of her Science Comedy Nights in Washington D.C. or on her tour around the country.
Kyle Marian is a former anthropologist, producer & co-host of "The Symposium: Academic Stand-Up," "Banana Ketchup: A Comedy Show with Filipino Flavor," & the headline-making "Asians Strike Back: A Coronavirus Comedy & Science Show." From stand-up to improv and variety shows, Kyle loves to create experiences that make audiences laugh while droppin' that knowledge. Kyle has performed across the US and UK, including buzzfeed, nowthis!, NPR & Edinburgh Fringe.
