Guided by Almanac Dance Circus Theatre company members Lauren Johns and Nathan Alford-Tate, Listening and Devising - workshop in creating collectively is week-long intensive program that will explore the interactions of virtuosic movement and storytelling. The workshop will introduce participants to the foundations of physical theatre, opening up expressivity, presence, humor, and vulnerability inside of performers. These explorations will be paired with exercise in partner acrobatics and contact improvisation, leading to unique individual and collective creations. By the end of the workshop, dancers, circus artists, and students will feel empowered to make creative choices in an ensemble and create beyond the boundaries of demonstrating the skill to say something meaningful with their bodies.

All participants will be asked to wear masks throughout the duration of this workshop. If participants would like to work together physically we ask that you sign up with a partner.
