PHYSICAL THEATRE EXPRESSTuesdays, 12:30-14:00
In this class we focus on building up “performative” condition through play, bodily communication and movement. We will practise exercises inspired by the diversity of Physical Theatre, Contemporary Dance and Performance art.
Sometimes we will work more technically, sometimes we will go deeper into improvisation. Other times we will focus on body-to-body or collective-body communication.
Some aspects that we aim to bring to the class:
- Building up stamina as well as strength and flexibility for the body
- Working on permeability (e.g. for emotions)
- Perception, coordination & presence
- Bodily listening and communication with a partner/others
- Coordination & composition in space
- Using body anatomy & somatics for deeper exploration
- Performative games to stimulate creativity
Technics: Dance and Movement Improvisation, BodyWeather, Yoga, Release Technique, Floorwork, Ballett, Physical Theatre, Biomechanics, Viewpoints, Contact Improvisation, Grotowski, etc.
The training will have alternating teachers: Marc / Carmen / Rosalin
Due to their personal approach each class will certainly have a different character.
This is an open level class suitable for beginners, professionals looking for unorthodox approaches, as well as dilettantes looking for pepper for their salad.
