Bibby & Barth are theatre makers who have been exploring the theatrical potential of drag since 2020. Since then, they have developed a rich theatrical universe around The Weird Sisters, with their own unique physicality and idiosyncratic way of interacting with their audience. The sisters speak french and broken english, as well as communicating nonverbally.
Bibby & Barth are in the process of opening up their practices to other performing artists and would like to invite you to this intensive workshop.
Here they will take you through exercises they use actively whilst working with their approach to drag which stems from physical theatre (clown, improv, text-based theatre, mime). And most importantly: connecting to your authentic self and inner weird, which will be directly applicable to the participants' own artistic practices.
There's space for 12 participants, and the workshop is open to professional performing artists (all genres), as well as people with stage experience but without any formal arts education. Unfortunately they will not be teaching the workshop to people who have never performed due to the short time frame and slightly advanced workshop content.
This workshop is also a collaboration with OsloMet, the only university that offers higher education in drag with their course "The Art of Drag".
