Physical Comedy with Nick Dickson

Ever wondered how Buster Keaton did it? Or Chevy Chase?
Falling on purpose is almost always funny. It takes the clown tenet of getting back up to make it land. Patty Gallagher puts it: "the clown falls hard. She gets back up. Always."
In this three day course, students will learn how to fall. Soft falls, hard falls, impossible falls: with the skills to rebound like Buster Keaton, with the inevitability of Chevy Chase.
In three two-hour classes, Nick Dickson will show students how he’s fallen hard and rebounded for twenty years, using Jeff Raz’s philosophy of "the ground rising to meet you" and the wealth of knowledge Dickson has gathered throughout his career.
Students will learn trips and face plants, clown entreés and slapstick standards, that involve going upside down and smiling as you pull your face off the floor.
Every level of acrobatics is welcome. No experience necessary. We will learn to accept the ground in somersaults, back rolls, and fish flops. Everyone can soft land with a little practice. Everyone can slap the crap out of their clown partner with aplomb.
