Join us for Talent's Fourth Friday Art Walk and enjoy the black and white photography of Ken Mierzwa and his portfolio of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness.From 2023 through 2025, Mierzwa photographed the Kalmiopsis Wilderness. Not intended as conventional pretty postcard landscapes, these images employ minimalist composition. The organic look of black and white processed in a high acutance developer captures the austere beauty of the Kalmiopsis.
Using a compact and durable 25-year-old rangefinder camera, Ken was able to facilitate spontaneous and intuitive image capture while indulging in occasional off-trail excursions. The results convey some hint of the powerful emotions unleashed by a visit to this vast fire-scarred but resilient landscape.
Mingle with the crew, sip a glass of wine and enjoy some snacks, and check out the other open galleries and businesses in downtown Talent, OR.
