About this Event
Join us on Saturday, April 25th for our second round of MFA workshops! We are featuring three more artists from the graduating MFA class currently exhibiting in MoFA. See you all there!
Kelicia Parker’s work critiques anti-Blackness in the American South through satire, which depicts the absurd situations and expectations when navigating America as a Black person. Parker’s photography, video art, and performances appropriate tools and media that have historically perpetuated anti-Blackness and redirects them to challenge these narratives. Parker will be leading “Photography and Animal Masks.”
On Saturday, April 25, Kelicia Parker will be leading “Photography and Animal Masks." Join us for a Western-themed portrait photography workshop set within the artist’s installation space. Participants will be allowed to take home two Polaroid photos and experiment with animal masks and props. Feel free to bring your own accessories. The workshop also includes an artist talk and presentation on portrait photography.
