AMoA is partnering with Amarillo College Associate Professor of Photography, René West, for two photography workshops in July. The workshops will be held at Amarillo College and will conclude at AMoA with a tour of the exhibition, Photography is Art. This is one in a series of American art exhibitions created through a multi-year, multi-institutional partnership formed by the Amon Carter Museum of American Art as part of the Art Bridges Cohort Program.
Participants will explore the magic of drawing with light to create images in an experimental black-and-white darkroom. This hands-on experience is designed to introduce methods of creating camera-less images in an experimental darkroom. The workshop will explore using a variety of materials and objects to create unique one-of-a-kind images.
The workshops are free to the public but registration is required as space will be limited.
No prior experience in photography or darkroom techniques is required to participate in either of these workshops. Both beginners and experienced photographers are welcome to attend.
All materials are provided.
