The Navy will host two guided photo tours of Hunters Point Naval Shipyard (HPNS) on Saturday, October 19, 2024 and two tours on Sunday, October 20, 2024. The tours allow members of the public the opportunity to visit the site and take still photos from different locations around the Shipyard. In addition, the Navy will share information about its ongoing environmental cleanup at HPNS.
The Navy's tours are taking place during . Parking will be directed by an attendant. ***Go to & ask the Parking Attendant for directions to parking.***
P lease arrive 15 minutes early to find parking, bus location, and sign in. All tours will leave ON TIME and are approximately 90 minutes long.
- Still photography cameras are welcomed. No video, please.
- Navy team members will offer approximately 15 minutes per stop for photographs in designated areas. Photographers who do not follow Navy guidance may lose the privilege to participate.
- Please be conscious of camera size and portability, as you will be seated on the bus along with several other photographers with equipment.
- You are responsible for the safety and security of your equipment at all times.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your equipment does not adversely affect another guest or Navy team member.
- The Navy may solicit feedback from participants during and/or after the tour to evaluate rider experience and Navy outreach goals and objectives.

- The tour is a seated bus tour with no convenience stops.
- Guests will be allowed the opportunity to exit the bus at identified tour stops as a part of the hosted session.
- Please reserve 90 minutes for the tour.
- Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your tour to sign in and board the bus.
- Due to limited space, reservations are limited to 1 per person and must be made in advance.
- You will receive an email confirmation of your reservation via Eventbrite.
- This is a tour for members of the community, not a media tour. If you are a member of the media and would like to request a media tour, please send an email to [email protected].
- This tour is not able to accommodate ADA needs. Please contact [email protected] to discuss options for a future tour.
- While not required to participate in this bus tour, the Navy would appreciate the sharing of photographs taken during the tour for use in the Navy’s future community outreach efforts. Your support of our community outreach efforts is greatly appreciated.

Are reservations required?
- YES. Due to limited seating, reservations are required.
How many seats can I reserve?
- To accommodate photographers and equipment, we are limiting reservations to 1 seat per registrant. If you have attended a recent HPNS tour, you may be moved to a waiting list to allow a new visitor to the base the chance to attend.

I didn't receive a ticket - what do I do?
- Your registration on Eventbrite will serve as your ticket and confirmation.
Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event?
- No. Navy team members will check you in when you arrive.
How can I update my registration information?
- Please log onto Eventbrite to update your registration or cancel your seat. You may also send an email to [email protected] to cancel your seat.
Is my registration ticket transferable?
- No. If you are unable to attend, please cancel on Eventbrite or send an email to [email protected].
Can I take photos and/or video on the tour?
- Yes, still photography is approved and encouraged! No video, please. Safety and respect of fellow riders are a primary concern to the Navy. No filming or recording for professional media purposes; please send any media-related requests to [email protected].
Can I get off during the tour and walk around the former shipyard?
- Riders will be able to exit the bus at 3 identified tour stops as a part of the hosted session. The remainder of the tour will be seated, visible through the bus windows only.
Will the Navy conduct interviews for members of the media or bloggers?
- No. This is not a media event. Members of the media (including bloggers and independent writers) may send an email to [email protected] to discuss their interests.
Are there restroom facilities on the bus?
- No. There are restrooms available in Building 101 at HPNS during Hunters Point Shipyard Artists Open Studios. The tour is approximately 90 minutes long. Please plan accordingly.
Is translation available during the tour?
