Saturday Family WorkshopInspired by KNMA’s ongoing exhibition please touch gently: zines, comics, ephemera, which celebrates the playful, intimate, and expressive world of zines, this workshop invites participants to transform ordinary photographs into imaginative characters. Just as zines blend drawing, writing, and humour to build personal narratives, families will explore how a single image can become a doorway into story and personality.Participants will begin by selecting a photograph of themselves, a friend, or even a stranger and observing its details closely. They will convert this image into a simple line drawing and then develop it further with expressive colours, gestures, and accents. Building on this character sketch, they will write short bios, quirks, dreams, and unexpected twists that bring their fictional persona to life.
