Photo 103: Editing, Post-Processing & Putting It All Together
Instructor: Dr. Sara Leikin
Photo 103 is the final class in our three-part Introduction to Photography series, and it’s where everything comes together. This session is designed to help you apply what you’ve learned in Photography 101 and 102 and take your images across the finish line, from capture to final edit.
This class focuses on hands-on practice, guided exercises, and real-world workflows. You’ll refine how you see and evaluate your own images while learning approachable, effective techniques for editing and post-processing. The goal isn’t to overcomplicate things; it’s to help you confidently enhance your photos while staying true to your creative vision.
In this class, we’ll cover:
- Applying core principles of light, color, composition, and camera settings
- Reviewing and selecting images with intention
- Basic photo editing and post-processing concepts
- Simple techniques to improve exposure, contrast, and color
- Using editing tools to enhance, not overpower, your images
- Developing a consistent, repeatable workflow from shoot to final image
Whether you’re photographing portraits, landscapes, or everyday moments, this class will help you gain confidence in what happens after you press the shutter and how editing fits into the creative process.
About the Instructor Dr. Sara Leikin is a photographer, educator, and lifelong storyteller who fell in love with photography as a way to slow down and really see the world. She’s especially drawn to travel photography, night-scapes, and the small details that tell a bigger story. With a background in education, Sara loves helping photographers at all levels build confidence, understand the why behind their camera settings, and discover their own visual voice.
