CZUCHWICKI proudly announces a limited season of PHOSPHENES at the Melbourne Fringe Festival Hub this October with the new audiovisual live show selected from over 200 applicants to feature in the curated program at the heart of the Melbourne Fringe. In PHOSPHENES, each frame of visuals is a unique work of art produced in real-time through audio-reactive processing. Based on the phenomenon of perceiving colour without light entering the eye, CZUCHWICKI marries this visual theme with his brand of experimental electronica, tying explosions of brilliant colour with sounds from the trip-hop, downtempo and industrial movements.Featuring left-field sounds and stunning visuals, viewers will be enthralled by hypnotic rhythms, luscious synths, and imagery emblematic of child-like wonder. CZUCHWICKI combines electronic percussion, controllerism and voice-modulation in an impressive display of musicianship as custom programmed visuals modulate generative patterns blended with glitchy silhouettes of the performance using live camera feeds.
Inspired by time spent living in Melbourne, the music in PHOSPHENES was composed and produced when CZUCHWICKI studied Music Performance at Collarts. Post-production and development of the live show occurred in Valencia, Spain in support of a master's thesis in Music Production, Technology and Innovation at Berklee College of Music’s international campus. Rigorous development earned CZUCHWICKI opportunities to finetune his showmanship with performances at Lago de Conciertos, Inocon Music & Technology Conference and the Queen Sofía Palace of the Arts.
