***Course Description:
This course is designed for the experienced health care provider and provides participants with the knowledge and laboratory skills required to become a phlebotomist. Participants will learn how to perform a variety of blood collection methods and techniques. Classroom and skills laboratory instruction will also include a basic review of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, infection control, handling, and storage. Upon completion of this course, participants will be prepared to pursue certification to become a certified phlebotomist. Information on certification requirements in phlebotomy will be provided to participants during the course. SCRUBS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS CLASS
