The University Philharmonic Orchestra welcome saxophonist Charley Schofield as they give the world premiere performance of Oliver Beck’s Concerto for Saxophone (winner of the 2025 University Music Composition Competition).
We also hear a selection of Moldavian folk themes in Weinberg’s 1949 Rhapsody, and Sibelius’s popular fifth symphony, with its deep connections to the natural world and sweeping, soaring melodies.
