The CU Boulder Philharmonia Orchestra presents "Tributes + Transformations": A concert that pays homage to important musical traditions and people, highlighting evolution through each composer’s signature lens. Reena Esmail’s “Avartan” puts a traditional Hindustani melody through a Western kaleidoscope; George Walker honors his grandmother, Melvina King, in his moving “Lyric for Strings”; and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart transforms the symphony through unique orchestration and form in his elegant and dazzling Symphony No. 39.The CU Boulder Philharmonia Orchestra features musicians from the College of Music performing a diverse range of repertoire for strings and full orchestra.
