PHC Health Ethics Conference PHC Health Ethics 4-Day Seminar
April 26, 2024 | Morris J Wosk Centre for Dialgoue, Vancouver
This conference offers a unique platform to delve into the intricacies of ethical decision-making in healthcare. It serves as a valuable opportunity to revisit healthcare decisions made during acute situations with the benefit of hindsight. This retrospective approach enables participants to thoroughly explore the ethical dimensions of their decisions, dissect the guiding principles and unearth the hidden opportunities that each real case presents. What sets this conference apart is its practicality – the cases discussed are relatable, making them applicable not only to healthcare professionals and staff, but also to community members with a vested interest in healthcare. The conference takes pride in its inclusivity, drawing upon diverse case studies spanning a spectrum of healthcare practices, from acute to community settings, and encompassing a wide array of patient and client populations. This diversity enriches the ethical discourse, fosters contemplation and encourages attendees to engage with cases that might not be part of their regular practice. In essence, PHC’s annual Health Ethics Conference not only refines clinical acumen but also nurtures a collective sense of ethical responsibility and holistic patient care.
