Pharmacists' Essential Guide to Cellular Therapies- August 2026
About this Event
What is the aim of the course?
This is a foundation course aimed at registered clinical Ph*rm*cy staff working in the haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) field and/or with cellular advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) who are new or recently started to the area.
Who should attend?
The course is designed as a one- or two-day in person only course and will be held at the UCH Education Centre in London. It will be run by specialist consultants and pharmacists.
This course will be beneficial for:
- Verification of conditioning or lymphodepletion prescriptions
- Clinical management of patients receiving a stem cell transplantation or cellular gene or somatic cell therapies in the acute setting
- Awareness of long term toxicities post stem cell transplantation or cellular gene or somatic cell therapies and their management
By the end of the two-day course, delegates should be able to:
- Describe stem cell transplant types, indications, and pathways
- Optimise supportive care and manage toxicities
- Understand governance, handling, and supply of ATMPs
- Recognise and manage key complications (e.g. GvHD, CRS)
- Apply knowledge to clinical scenarios
To gain the most out of this program attendees should be working in the field of HSCT/Cellular Therapies. All applicants will be reviewed prior to final acceptance of tickets based on current experience and place of work.
