PHANTOM SPELL LIVE IN AGRINIO METAL UNION

Μετά από την εις διπλούν εμφάνισή τους στο Up The Hammers Festival, οι Phantom Spell επιστρέφουν στην Ελλάδα για ένα χορταστικό headline show, σταθμός του οποίου θα είναι και λέσχη Metal Union στο Αγρίνιο. Στο εκπηκτικό αυτό show οι fans θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να τους δουν να ξεδιπλώνουν όλο το υλικό τους. Μία από τις πιο ενδιαφέρουσες παρουσίες της σύγχρονης metal σκηνής, οι Phantom Spell υπηρετούν ναι μεν το παραδοσιακό heavy metal, αλλά ανοίγονται με τόλμη και προς το ‘70s prog, με αναφορές σε μπάντες όπως οι Wishbone Ash, Camel και Uriah Heep. Με vintage αισθητική, πιασάρικες μελωδίες και μία old-school και ταυτόχρονα φρέσκια αίσθηση, το κουαρτέτο από την Ισπανία θεωρείται δικαίως μία από τις μεγαλύτερες ελπίδες του NWOTHM στερεώματος.
Πίσω από το project βρίσκεται ο Kyle McNeill, γνωστός και από τους Seven Sisters, που εδώ βρίσκει το δικό του, προσωπικό όχημα έκφρασης και –δίχως άλλο– ανθίζει! Το ντεμπούτο “Immortal’s Requiem” (2022) έβαλε τις βάσεις του σχήματος, ενώ το πιο πρόσφατο “Heather & Hearth” (2025) ανέδειξε ακόμη περισσότερο την prog και folk πλευρά του, με μεγαλύτερες συνθέσεις και πιο πλούσιες ενορχηστρώσεις. Μέσα σε μικρό χρονικό διάστημα, το σχήμα έχει καταφέρει να τραβήξει το ενδιαφέρον του underground κοινού, με εμφανίσεις σε επιλεγμένα φεστιβάλ και έχοντας καταξιωθεί στη συνείδηση eclectic ακροατηρίων που ψάχνουν το κάτι παραπάνω στο παραδοσιακό heavy metal.
Στο live, τα κομμάτια τους παίρνουν άλλη διάσταση. Μελωδίες, κιθάρες και πλήκτρα υφαίνουν prog ηχοτοπία, αναβαθμίζοντας το δισκογραφημένο υλικό χάρη στις ψυχωμένες performances του συγκροτήματος, ενώ η ελαφριά fantasy αύρα που πλανάται πάνω από το υλικό το μεταμορφώνει σε κάτι πραγματικά μοναδικό. Ένα show που αξίζει να δεις από κοντά, από μια μπάντα που συμβαίνει τώρα!
Opening Act οι Blazing Light
Η μουσική πορεία των Blazing Light ξεκίνησε το 2022, όταν ο Ανδρέας Κολοβός (κιθάρα) και ο Μιχάλης Πολύζος (μπάσο) αποφάσισαν να ενώσουν το πάθος και την αγάπη τους για τον αυθεντικό hard rock και heavy metal ήχο της δεκαετίας του ’80. Λίγο αργότερα, στο πλευρό τους βρέθηκαν ο Δημήτρης Βασιλείου (κιθάρα) και η Εύα Παναγιωτοπούλου (φωνητικά), ενώ η πρώτη ολοκληρωμένη σύνθεση της μπάντας διαμορφώθηκε με την είσοδο του Γιάννη Ζαρναβέλη στα τύμπανα.
Με κοινό όραμα, δημιουργικότητα και αφοσίωση στη μουσική που τους ενώνει, οι Blazing Light ξεκίνησαν να γράφουν το δικό τους υλικό, μετατρέποντας τις πρόβες και τα όνειρά τους σε τραγούδια γεμάτα ενέργεια, μελωδία και συναίσθημα. Δεν άργησε να έρθει και η πρώτη τους ζωντανή εμφάνιση στη σκηνή της λέσχης Metal Union, μια στιγμή που αποτέλεσε την αρχή ενός ξεχωριστού ταξιδιού.
Το 2024, η μπάντα ανέβηκε στη σκηνή του Metal Union Festival ως opening act της πρώτης ημέρας, δίπλα στους σπουδαίους Rhapsody of Fire, αποδεικνύοντας πως το πάθος, η επιμονή και η αγάπη για τη μουσική μπορούν να ανοίξουν σημαντικούς δρόμους ακόμη και για μια νέα μπάντα.
Στη συνέχεια, ο Γιάννης αποχώρησε από το συγκρότημα και τη θέση του πίσω από τα τύμπανα πήρε ο Γρηγόρης Δημητρογιάννης, δίνοντας νέα δυναμική και ώθηση στον ήχο των Blazing Light. Με τη νέα τους σύνθεση συνεχίζουν ακούραστα να κυνηγούν το όνειρό τους: την ηχογράφηση του πρώτου τους album.
Παράλληλα, κάθε live εμφάνιση αποτελεί για αυτούς μια ξεχωριστή εμπειρία και μια ευκαιρία να μοιραστούν τη μουσική και την ενέργειά τους με τον κόσμο. Ξεχωριστή στιγμή στην πορεία τους υπήρξε η εμφάνισή τους δίπλα στους Αμερικανούς θρύλους Jag Panzer τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2025.
Το ταξίδι όμως συνεχίζεται. Στις 23 Οκτωβρίου 2026, οι Blazing Light θα εμφανιστούν στη λέσχη Metal Union, ανοίγοντας τη συναυλία των Phantom Spell, σε μια βραδιά που υπόσχεται να αποτελέσει ακόμη ένα σημαντικό κεφάλαιο στην ιστορία της μπάντας.

Following their two-night appearance at the Up The Hammers Festival, Phantom Spell are returning to Greece for a full-scale headline show, with a stop at the Metal Union club in Agrinio. At this spectacular show, fans will have the chance to see them perform their entire repertoire. One of the most intriguing acts on the contemporary metal scene, Phantom Spell certainly pay homage to traditional heavy metal, but they also boldly embrace ’70s prog, drawing inspiration from bands like Wishbone Ash, Camel, and Uriah Heep. With a vintage aesthetic, catchy melodies, and a sound that’s both old-school and fresh, the quartet from Spain is rightly considered one of the biggest hopes of the NWOTHM scene.
Behind the project is Kyle McNeill, also known from Seven Sisters, who finds here his own personal vehicle of expression and—without a doubt—thrives! The debut “Immortal’s Requiem” (2022) laid the groundwork for the band, while the more recent “Heather & Hearth” (2025) further highlighted its prog and folk side, with longer compositions and richer arrangements. In a short period of time, the band has managed to capture the interest of the underground audience, with appearances at select festivals and having established themselves in the consciousness of eclectic audiences seeking something more than traditional heavy metal.
In a live setting, their songs take on a whole new dimension. Melodies, guitars, and keyboards weave a prog soundscape, elevating the recorded material thanks to the band’s spirited performances, while the light fantasy aura that hovers over the music transforms it into something truly unique. A show worth seeing up close, from a band that’s happening right now!
Opening Act: Blazing Light
Blazing Light’s musical journey began in 2022, when Andreas Kolovos (guitar) and Michalis Polyzos (bass) decided to combine their passion and love for the authentic hard rock and heavy metal sound of the ’80s. Shortly thereafter, they were joined by Dimitris Vassiliou (guitar) and Eva Panagiotopoulou (vocals), while the band’s first complete lineup was formed with the addition of Yiannis Zarnavelis on drums.
With a shared vision, creativity, and dedication to the music that unites them, Blazing Light began writing their own material, transforming their rehearsals and dreams into songs full of energy, melody, and emotion. It wasn’t long before their first live performance took place on the stage of the Metal Union club, a moment that marked the beginning of a unique journey.
In 2024, the band took the stage at the Metal Union Festival as the opening act on the first day, alongside the legendary Rhapsody of Fire, proving that passion, perseverance, and a love for music can open up significant opportunities even for a new band.
Subsequently, Yiannis left the band, and his place behind the drums was taken by Grigoris Dimitrogiannis, giving new energy and momentum to Blazing Light’s sound. With their new lineup, they continue tirelessly to pursue their dream: recording their first album.
At the same time, every live performance is a special experience for them and an opportunity to share their music and energy with the audience. A highlight of their career was their performance alongside American legends Jag Panzer in September 2025.
But the journey continues. On October 23, 2026, Blazing Light will perform at the Metal Union club, opening for Phantom Spell, on a night that promises to be yet another significant chapter in the band’s history.
