About Peña Flamenca Laishy
Come experience Flamenco up close at Peña Flamenca Laishy, a free community gathering filled with live performance, movement, music, food, and connection.
A peña is a gathering place for people who love Flamenco—and for people who are simply curious. You do not need to be a dancer or know anything about Flamenco to participate. Come to watch, listen, learn a few steps, share food, meet new people, and enjoy the afternoon with us.
The gathering will include:
- A welcoming introductory Flamenco dance lesson
- A 20-minute live Flamenco dance demonstration
- Rumbas for social dancing
- A special DJ set by Trópico FM Director K-Scheff
- A community potluck and time to eat and visit
The introductory lesson is designed for beginners. No partner, special shoes, or previous dance experience is necessary. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that stay securely on your feet.
Admission is free. Donations are gladly accepted and help support the participating artists and future Peña Flamenca community gatherings.
This is a community potluck. Guests are welcome to bring a dish, snack, dessert, or nonalcoholic beverage to share, but bringing food is not required in order to attend.
Reservations are encouraged so we can prepare the space and make sure there is enough food to go around. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Come curious. Come dance. Come be part of the community.
