Create custom holiday ornaments with Ukrainian painter Marina Malyarenko in this painting class. Students will learn traditional Petrykivka style ornamental painting techniques using traditional tools, while coming away with two of their own handpainted ornaments, all materials provided.

Petrykivka is a traditional Ukrainian style of decorative painting. Rich in Ukrainian symbolism, this folk art style utilizes distinct brushing techniques in its many floral and natural images and motifs.

About Marina:

Marina Malyarenko is a Ukrainian artist and instructor who learned the traditional form of decorative painting, `Petrykivka, at a young age. Since then, Marina has exhibited art all across the United States, focusing on potraying the natural world in an ornate style.
