Blanchette and Malin present some thrilling and lovely new arrangements of consort music from as far back as the 15th century to piano pieces by contemporary 'enfant terrible' of the classical/jazz/pop world, Chilly Gonzales. For the earlier music, Malin plays the viola, which Blanchette says "gives a sound very much like the ubiquitous 'lute and viol' repertoire of the 16 to 18th centuries." Bach, renaissance masters and even Irish traditional music is covered there, with Malin playing violin on the more modern, even neo-romantic music of Gonzales.
