Petal to Paper: Paper Chrysanthemum Workshop
About this Event
Join paper artist Nancy Lalicon for the "Paper to Petal: Paper Chrysanthemums Workshop." In this 4-hour session, participants will learn to create lifelike paper Mums using 90g crepe paper. Nancy will guide you through constructing at least one flower in the first half. In the second half you will use colored media to enhance and make another beauty. Take home instructions and links to a video will be distributed. Discover the art of paper floristry and leave with your own stunning creations.
Optional Items To Bring:
- Vase to keep your floral creation in
- Sharp scissors (4”-5”)
- Preferred tools such as long nose pliers or wire cutters
- Additional colouring materials
Tuesday, August 11 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch. We recommend bringing a lunch as there are limited options nearby.

About Nancy Lalicon
Nancy Lalicon is a multi-media sculptor specialized in making botanically accurate paper flowers and plants, and in facilitating workshops for for community art organizations and local groups around Toronto and the GTA. From Peonies to Jupiter’s Beard to the Blazing Star, Nancy has mastered the intricate art of creating environmentally friendly paper replicas; a modern day, three dimensional take on botanical drawing.
Trained in the Fine Arts at the University of Victoria and the Emily Carr College of Art in BC, she received an MFA from Concordia University, Montreal. Nancy lives in East Toronto with a large family who lovingly tolerate all her studio hours and mountains of flowers and roots.
