Pet Portrait Painting Workshop at Malinalli Garden

Join us for an afternoon of painting a portrait of your lovely fur baby 🎨 🐶 🐱 🐥 🐍 🐹

In partnership with Yollocalli, Fabiola Rivera and Kaelyn Andrade will be leading a watercolor pet portrait. Both Kaelyn and Fabiola will be instructing preliminary watercoloring techniques and color theory. Using the watercolor techniques you've learned, you will then use color pencils for details and adorn the portrait with both pressed flowers to create a floral background which will be pressed between a glass frame!

Kaelyn Andrade lived and works in Chicago. Kaelyn has a BA in Art and Art History from UIC and is currently working as a museum educator at the National Museum of Mexican Art. Her most recent work was featured in the Pilsen community House; Rezident and P&B Chicago Art show.

Fabiola Rivera es una diseñadora, artista y educadora originaria de la Ciudad de México residiendo actualmente en Chicago. Su enfoque principal radica en la ilustración digital y la creación mural, donde combina su identidad cultural con influencias contemporáneas. Inspirada por sus viajes a través de México, su arte refleja vivencias y memorias, tejiendo metáforas entre la naturaleza y la experiencia humana. Su habilidad para fusionar lo tradicional con lo contemporáneo la posiciona como una figura fresca y flexible, promoviendo la diversidad cultural y compartiendo historias que trascienden fronteras. Con cada obra, Rivera invita al espectador a un viaje emocional, recordándonos la belleza y la riqueza de la experiencia humana.
