Pet Portrait Kinusaiga
About this Event
At this workshop, we will be exploring the Japanese art of Kinusaiga or "quilting without thread." This process involves carving a design into foam or wood (this part will be done for you ahead of time) and tucking pieces of fabric into the shapes of the design to create a textured, quilt-inspired art piece.
Guests will submit photo references of their pet ahead of the class, and we will design and carve a custom portrait of your pet for you to bring to life in our workshop session utilizing our wonder-filled bins of fabric scraps. Each piece is customizable and unique, and the process is very beginner-friendly!
Projects will be 8"x8" and will come with a wooden frame for hanging (pictured.)
Please email 2-3 photos of your pet to [email protected] by August 17th to allow me time to design and carve your pieces.
Please note: since the canvases are only 8"x8", and finer details add a fair bit of difficulty, we can only include one pet per project for this workshop.
