Gently walk our pet loss grief together with others who ‘get it’
About this Event

We're so sorry for your loss. We know how much it hurts 😢

Losing a pet, your loyal companion and a cherished member of your family, is one of the most heartbreaking experiences you’ll ever face in life.

Our monthly “walk our grief” meetups are a gentle way to step into nature and connect with other grieving pet parents in a supportive, safe space.

Grief can feel heavy and isolating. Being outside and walking with others who really ‘get it’ can bring a quiet sense of comfort and connection, and help you gently process things at your own pace.

We’ll take a gentle walk in nature and/or by the sea, with time to talk, listen, or simply walk quietly alongside others. We’ll also have the option to stop for a drink and a snack together.

What Grieving Pet Parents Say

"The meetup was absolutely lovely, and I loved meeting you all in person so much. It felt really supportive and fun. I enjoyed it so much, and it was a bright spot in my day! I loved being able to talk in person about slightly different things whilst still keeping the focus on our beloved animals. I could have talked for hours. I was emotional afterwards, but in a way that I think did me good. I cried whilst driving home, suddenly feeling as though the grief was so overwhelming and never-ending, which is weird because I had the best day! I'll definitely come along to the next meetup and would recommend it to other grieving pet parents."
Sarah lost her Parson Russell, Spaniel, Poppy

"It was a lovely afternoon being around other like-minded people, very grounding and simple; a nice coffee and a sit on the beach with great company. It was nice to have some human company. I needed to dedicate some time to remembering Benny, as our connection was beyond words, so to have a meetup for this was brilliant. I was also able to release a lot of emotions on the way home. The meetup was perfect, and I'm really looking forward to the next one."
Ben lost his Jack Russell, Benny

"Thanks so much for the meetup today! It was absolutely lovely. I'm so glad I came along and would definitely like to join the next one. We had such nice conversations together on the beach. A little cry can feel good sometimes, especially when memories are evoked."
Caroline lost her cat, Dizzee

Why This Group Was Created

In February 2023, my heart was shattered when I lost Tilly, my 13-year-old Yorkie. Tilly was my baby, my angel, and the love of my life. She taught me the meaning of love. How to receive love and how to give love. She was the bravest girl I ever knew 🐶

When Tilly passed, I felt so alone and unsure how to navigate my grief. I felt like people (especially non-pet parents) just didn't understand my pain and what I was going through.

I didn't want anyone else to feel like this, so I decided to turn my pain into purpose. With this isolating feeling and sadness in my heart, I decided to create this group to support others.

So, come join us, share your feelings, make new friends and be supported on your pet loss journey among others who ‘get it’. Your heart deserves to heal.

We hope to meet you soon. In the meantime, please be kind to yourself 🙏🏼

RSVP Request

To keep the group safe and supportive, spaces are limited. If you're unable to attend, please update your RSVP so someone else can join.

Disclaimer

This group is created as a safe space for you to share your feelings about your pet loss journey. This is not therapy. I’m not a trained counsellor, therapist, or psychologist. I’m just like you, a grieving pet parent. If you require professional support, please contact your GP or another trusted health professional.

With love,
Sonia 💛
