Perugino Virtual Tour - The Greatest Master of Italy

Welcome to a NEW virtual tour celebrating the life and art of Perugino, one of the most renowned painters of the Italian Renaissance. Born as Pietro di Cristoforo Vannucci, but better known as Perugino, he left an indelible mark on the world of art. Perugino was one of the key figures of the High Renaissance, the founder of Early Classicism, and, for a couple of decades, the most famous and influential painter in Italy.

Born in Città della Pieve, Perugino is also Umbria’s most renowned artist, the painter of the famous "Delivery of the Keys", a fresco commissioned by Pope Sixtus IV for the Sistine Chapel. Perugino invented compositions and iconographies that set the school, spread a new ideal of female beauty through his Madonnas, and conceived extraordinary fresco cycles as in the Collegio del Cambio in Perugia.

Join us on this journey as we explore the life and incredible masterpieces of this influential artist who inspired great painters, such as Raphael, by creating works of immortal beauty.
