Have you been thinking of going on a spiritual retreat to Peru and don’t know where to start?
There are so many to choose from that it can become overwhelming. Why choose one over an other?
Cusco Valley of Peru is the #1 destination for plant medicine experience in the world without forgetting the Peruvian, Brazilian and Colombian jungle.
Unfortunately the planet is being over saturated with so called “Shaman” , “Healers” or “Galactic Seeds Gurus” promising a life changing experience.
If you find yourself looking at a website claiming that the retreat center has a Shaman on site and has beautiful pictures of a man with feathers over his head or wears a tribal costume, please consider to click away.
There are no Shaman in South America. It is a miss usage of the word for marketing purpose. Shamans are from Siberia and they do not use any medicine during their druming journeys.
Plant medicine people in South America are referred as Ayahuasceros, Huachumeros or Curanderos.
All my contacts are people I had the opportunity to sit with in medicine ceremonies several times over the years.Some I have known for a decade and others more recently.
After searching for the most native experiences for myself I met many different interesting and powerful people. I always looked for medicine people with high integrity and pure devotion to the plants. In some cases it took me years to find them because they are very private and don’t like the spot light.
Plant medicine are extremely serious and can be as damaging as they can be helpful that’s why it is crucial to find the best suited one for your situation. I can’t pretend to know them all but the ones I know are pure and strong plant medicines people.
I also have the privilege to work closely with an American medical doctor who has converted her practice to plant medicine here in Cusco.
All my referrals use medical intakes, zoom meeting prior accepting you for a retreat and a minimum of 3 follow ups post ceremony for integration.
