Ranskalainen Perturbator, eli James Kent, on yksi tämän hetken arvostetuimmista sythwave-artisteista. Black metal -kitaristina uransa aloittanut Kent yhdistää tummanpuhuvaan ja vastustamattomasti eteenpäin rullaavaan elektroniseen musiikiinsa retrofuturistisia kaikuja 80-luvun kauhu- ja science fiction -elokuvista, post- ja cyberpunkista sekä goottirockista. Ennen Perturbatoria oman näkemyksensä retrofuturismista tarjoilee aiemmin glamrock-yhtyeenäkin tunnettu Reckless Love, joka vuoden 2022 pitkäsoitollaan Turborider sukelsi syvälle sythwaven maailmaan. The French Perturbator, aka James Kent, is one of the most highly praised synthwave artists of the time. Having begun his career as a black metal guitarist, Kent mixes his dark and unstoppable electronic music with retro-futuristic echoes of 80s horror and science fiction films, post-punk, cyberpunk and goth rock.
Before Perturbator, we will experience another version of retro-futurism as performed by Reckless Love, previously known as a glam rock group, whose 2022 album Turborider was a deep dive into the world of synthwave.
