Contemporary Art in Heritage Redevelopments // Join us for an insightful panel discussion. Neil Cownie, architect | Michelle Blakeley, architect | Elaine McElroy, interior designer | Joanna Lamb, artist. Deliberate inclusion of contemporary art in the interior design strategy when restoring or re-developing heritage buildings, offers ways for the past to be experienced in the present, and for the present to activate the past.
Examples include the State Buildings in Perth and Ace Hotel Sydney where curated art collections and commissioning artists have created impressive focal points that recontextualise and enliven the building.
