About this Event
Perspectives Over Pints is a monthly lecture series exploring the intersection of Utah and contemporary culture — from environment to industry to public life. Each talk delivers a straightforward look at what’s happening and why it matters. Come for the talk, stay for the pint, leave with a new perspective.
In this discussion we’ll unpack why Great Salt Lake matters for our health, economy, and the future of the region; discuss how we got here from a scientific, historical, and cultural perspective; review current solutions both real and proposed; and dig into where we’re headed next and how you can meaningfully engage.
This is a ticketed event and will take place at Fisher Brewing Company 320 W 800 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. You must be 21+ to attend. Tickets are $10.
About the presenters
Jake Serago is a water resource engineer with 13 years of professional hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience. Driven by his connection to the elements, Jake chose water resources as a career because of the magical quality of water to sustain life. In his work at the Utah Division of Water Resources, he strives to pair modeling expertise with stakeholder interest to create lasting and adaptable solutions to our civilization's water resource challenges. He lives in Salt Lake City and enjoys adventuring through the city on his bicycle (please don't hit him).
Chandler Rosenberg is a water & food policy professional and community organizer working at the intersection of agriculture and Great Salt Lake. She currently serves as the Great Salt Lake Policy Associate at Stewardship Utah. Chandler is driven to shift systems of power to reflect our interdependence with the living world by engaging communities in decisions around the ecosystems on which they rely. To this end, she co-founded the Utah Food Coalition and Save Our Great Salt Lake and serves on the board of Wasatch Community Gardens.
