Perspective Drawing. Creating realism in visual art through depth and dimensionality.
Learning Objectives:
Give attendees an understanding of the fundamentals of perspective drawing. Demonstrate how using perspective can create more realistic depictions in art by creating depth and three dimensionality. Attendees will leave with an artwork they create using one point perspective.
Material and Resources Needed:
Attendees must bring the following:
- Drawing Pencils
- Pink or White Block Eraser
- Fine Tip Sharpie Marker
Instructor will supply the following:
- Sketch Books
- Drafting Triangles
- Rulers
- Watercolors/Gouache
- Mixed Media Paper
- Reference Photo
"I studied art history at Virginia Tech and Wichita State. After college I worked as a civil engineering drafter. I was a high school guidance counselor and art teacher and am now retired. I am primarily a landscape artist. For me, landscapes are a tactile and emotional experience as I remember the people I am with in a specific moment of time. I use colors and textures to express my feelings about the scene. I also love using experimental processes in oil painting, fiber arts, and block printing. I find that art, in general, is an endless source for new experiences." -Connie Collier
