Personae by Dan & Serg - Private View

Join Sussex-based artistic duo Dan & Serg for the opening night of Personae, a new collaborative exhibition bringing together figurative painting and photography.
Taking its title from the Latin plural of persona – the theatrical mask through which an actor's voice was said to per sonare, or "sound through" - the exhibition explores the many identities we present to the world.
Through painting and photography, Personae brings together a cast of individuals, each revealing something of themselves while inviting us to look beyond the surface. From intimate portraits and everyday encounters to carefully constructed imagery, the exhibition explores transformation, identity and the theatre of everyday life.
Serg's photography captures fleeting moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed, while Dan transforms those observations into expressive paintings that blur the boundary between reality and imagination. Together, their work celebrates individuals from all walks of life, elevating ordinary encounters into extraordinary works of art.
The exhibition includes original paintings, portraiture, street photography and limited edition prints, all available to purchase.
One of the exhibition's centrepieces is a new painted portrait of Rob Makin, best known from Channel 4's Handcuffed, displayed alongside a selection of Serg's original photographs from the sitting. The photographic series includes intimate fine art nude portraits exploring vulnerability, trust and body confidence.
Dan & Serg, together with Rob Makin and Charlie Gray from Channel 4's Handcuffed, will all be in attendance throughout the evening and available to meet guests.
