Persian Songs Workshop with Dariush Rasouli - A Journey into the Persian Heart
Schedule
Sun May 03 2026 at 03:00 pm to 04:30 pm
UTC+01:00Location
Croi Nua Galway | Galway, GY
The workshop will be focused on learning Persian songs sung in Farsi with English translation. You will have an opportunity to recite Persian texts along with music notation, to feel the unique melodies and ornamentation of this type of singing. We will experience some rhythmical patterns characteristic for Iranian culture and a unique music interval – a microtone.
The workshop material will include both classical Persian poetry by Rumi, Umar Khayam etc., as well as some Iranian folk songs.
Each workshop is unique, contributed to by both the teacher and the participants. Let’s create our own experience. And, if you feel like testing your newly acquired skills, feel free to join us during our Heart-Shaped Stories concert after a short break at the same venue.

The concert is a separate event; however, discount bundle tickets are available, as well.
