Permission to Officiate Safeguarding Learning Pathway 26th November 2026

We look forward to welcoming you to the Permission to Officiate Safeguarding Learning Pathway.

The Permission to Officiate Safeguarding Learning Pathway involves the attendance of one three-hour safeguarding session, pre-session activities and a reflective evaluation exercise.

Participants will receive an email three weeks before the training with details of how to access the session, training materials and information regarding the pre-session activities.

By the end of the Pathway those with PtO will be able to:

Understand how healthy culture, and safe and effective leadership, shapes Christian communities that are healthy, safe and able to deliver high-quality safeguarding practices.

Evaluate their own practice and identify changes required that will improve their safeguarding practice and responses.

Understand what a healthy Christian community looks like, how healthy communities keep people safe, and their role in shaping Christian communities that are healthy and safe.

Recognise how their own faith, beliefs and values support good safeguarding behaviours.
