Permaculture in the Park! Permaculture for the Planet!
Heal The Planet and The Circle of Life Experience at Snyder Park are partnering to deliver a monthly Permaculture-focused Children’s Gardening Workshop for families aimed at nurturing a love for nature, promoting healthy habits, and teaching environmental responsibility through hands-on activities.
Join us every 4th Saturday of the Month to learn all 12 Permaculture Principles through observation, hands-on practice, mindfulness, art, and reflection.
Curriculum Implementation and Alignment:
- 9:30AM - 11:30AM Each class is 2 hours: 1 hour teaching and discussion, 1 hour hands-on gardening/art activity.
- Mindfulness & Storytelling: Each class with a brief nature mindfulness exercise (listening to birds, observing wind, feeling soil).
- Functional Art: Every project uses natural or recycled materials to reinforce learning and environmental responsibility.
- Journaling under the oak trees: Space for reflection to connect learning to personal life and Heal the Planet’s mission.
- Fully permaculture-rich curriculum with detailed principle explanations and how to apply to daily life.
- Circle of Life Experience = Kid-friendly and family-friendly, with hands-on, reflective, and creative activities.
- Aligned with the Heal The Planet mission, emphasizing Small Acts that have a Big Impact.
