Perimenopause and Strength
About this Event
Perimenopause & Strength: A Two-Part Workshop
Perimenopause can bring a lot of changes, from shifts in energy, sleep and mood to changes in body composition, recovery and how exercise feels. But understanding what is happening in your body can make it much easier to know how to support it.
Join Dr. Brittany Jeffries, Naturopathic Doctor, and Dr. Annelies Wentzel, chiropractor, for a two-part evening series designed to help you better understand perimenopause and feel more confident with strength training during this stage of life.
Thursday, October 8 | 7:00–8:30 PM
Understanding Perimenopause + Why Exercise Matters
Dr. Brittany Jeffries will break down what is actually happening hormonally during perimenopause, the symptoms these changes can create, and why exercise becomes especially valuable during this stage of life.
We’ll talk about changes in estrogen and progesterone, muscle and bone health, body composition, metabolism, recovery, and how movement can support both how you feel now and your long-term health.
There will also be time for questions and discussion.
Thursday, October 15 | 7:00–8:30 PM
Strength Training in Perimenopause
For the second evening, Dr. Annelies Wentzel will take the group into the practical side of strength training.
You’ll learn the fundamentals of building strength, how to approach resistance training during perimenopause, and how to exercise in a way that feels sustainable and appropriate for your body.
This session will include education and a guided strength training class, so come dressed and ready to move. No previous strength training experience is required.
Who is this for?
This series is for anyone who is in perimenopause, thinks they might be entering perimenopause, or simply wants to better understand what to expect and how strength training can support healthy aging.
You do not need to already be exercising or have experience with strength training. We want this to be an approachable space to learn, ask questions, move your body and leave with practical information you can actually use.
Your registration includes both evenings of the series.
