Known for his unique ability to convey emotional vulnerability not only lyrically, but with his impressively nuanced vocals, his heartbreaking sentiments and bruised characterisations culminate in a raw vulnerability that leave audiences mesmerised and moved.
After a riveting 2018 performance, Perfume Genius returns to Elisabeth Murdoch Hall with works from his fifth studio album, Set My Heart on Fire Immediately. The album explores and subverts concepts of masculinity and traditional roles and introduces decidedly American musical influences. Throughout Hadreas plays with themes of love, sex, memory and the body, channelling popular music mythologies while irreverently authoring its own.
