Title: CHANGELINGS by Adderstone

High on a windy mountainside sits a cailleach, a hag whose days as a powerful goddess are long behind her (if they were ever quite as impressive as she remembers).

The world is changing. She who once held such sway over the weather has been usurped by humans. And a retired climate goddess needs a hobby - so why not take up kidnapping? But the only ones she seems to be able to reach are the different ones, the ones who find it hard to ignore her nighttime calls. The changelings.
Every family has a sensitive one. What do they know that the rest of us don’t? What journey do we need to make to hear what they are saying?
CHANGELINGS braids storytelling with acappella singing, spoken word with humour, Celtic myth with personal experience.
Adderstone are Cath Heinemeyer and Gemma McDermott, musicians and storytellers with a leftfield take on life, love and climate. They weave the a cappella and folk traditions into live storytelling performance that darts from frenetic cities to lonely mountains. Everything looks different through an adderstone.

Events Access & Inclusivity

At York St John University we are committed to making our events as welcoming and inclusive for as many people as possible.

If you need a suitable seat reserved for you (and companions), please let us know, preferably at least one week before the event. Sign language interpreters and real-time captioning may be requested in advance. Please contact us as soon as possible (ideally at least 3 weeks before the date of the event) if you require either BSL interpretation or captioning. We will try our best but cannot guarantee provision.

Parking

There is no parking for any vehicles on site and ANPR cameras are in operation 24/7. We have a small number of Blue Badge spaces available, these spaces can only be used if guests have pre registered their number plates by emailing [email protected] or t: 01904 876318. Registering your details does not guarantee a space, as they operate on a first come, first served basis. Please ensure your blue badge is displayed clearly in the vehicle.
