Perfect Days Dreamin'

In a Japan suspended between silence and overcrowding, director Lorenzo Ciani becomes a silent guide — a contemporary Virgil (Dante Alighieri's guide in the poem " Divine Comedy") — through the contradictions of mass tourism. Inspired by the locations of Wim Wenders' film "Perfect Days", the documentary alternates moments of contemplative daily life with scenes of tourist chaos, questioning the very meaning of travel, a modern-day "Tokyo-Ga", the documentary that Wim Wenders made in 1985 to tell the story of Japan's economic boom. With interviews with model Yoshino Belli and chef Ken Motoyoshi, the role of social media in overtourism is revealed and the viewer is invited to rediscover listening, slowness and respect.
