What do you get when you blend shoegaze guitar leads and introspective lyrics? The answer is Perfect Animal.
Formed in April 2022, Eric Peters (vocals /guitar), Alex Dauer (bass), Justin Stoks (drums), and David Burger (guitar) came together with one goal in mind: to take listeners on a sonic journey that transcends all genre boundaries. Drawing inspiration from influential artists such as The Cure, Mac Demarco, and Snail Mail, Perfect Animal personifies the DIY attitude in both their musical and visual storytelling. From producing their own music videos to recording their music in-house, each release is crafted to create an immersive and authentic experience for the listener - and this experience continues to take new shapes and colors as the band continues to grow.
Perfect Animal has seen significant success with their song "Warm Twin Bed., a track that has struck a chord with fans for its distinctive vocal melodies and deep-chested drums. Building on this momentum, the band has since released an emotional acoustic EP, Handmade, as well as their 3-track release, The Way Things End, which includes a stripped-down version of their dynamic song "The Royal We.
"We believe that the best art comes from the ability to directly convey the events of your life and feelings-knife to bone," frontman Eric
Peters says. "If we can make an emotional impact on just one person, then we've done what we set out to do in the first place."

Tokyo Teens began in the final months of 2021 with a collection of demos that writer and founding member Jimmi B. had been working on during many overnight sessions in his modest bedroom studio. “I was busy playing shows full time all over the world as a bass player and during that time had suffered some pretty devastating personal losses. I had decided to document my feelings in the form of song and leave my nicely paying gig to focus on my own music, no matter the cost.”
Finding a producer was next and Jimmi reached out to his longtime friend and onetime band mate, Billy Hume. Having found major success mixing and recording mega hits for Bonecrusher, Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz, and Ying Yang Twins among others, Billy ultimately won a Grammy in 2018 for Best Production on a Bluegrass album (The Infamous StringDusters). It is precisely this blending of rhythmic electronic drums, acoustic instrumental textures and powerful vintage synthesizers that give Tokyo Teens its own unique yet familiar sound. Add to the mix Jimmi’s full sounding yet vulnerable vocals, and lyrics containing themes of love found, love lost, and open hearted honesty, and the results are songs with a dramatic flair that are equally enjoyable to listen to on a long drive alone in a car, or experience at high volume in a crowded club.
