PERCC Round 1 Information

Round 1 is being held at Bracken Rocks near Matlock, Postcode DE4 5AS and What3Words for the gate: ///renew.trickled.elevate. The site will be open from 07:30 to those who are not setting up, if you have never been to Bracken before, come through the gates and follow the road up and around the righthand bend passed the Portacabin and into the car park. Please park sensibly to make sure everyone can get parked and get out in a hurry if the need arises.
Driver briefing will be at 08:30 and the first driver to be on course at 09:00. Each driver will run the morning course and the course will be reversed for the afternoon run. Each driver will get two runs in whichever classes they have entered and these will be timed and scored. Each driver will have a maximum time limit of 6 minutes to complete the course, due to time constraints drivers will not be allowed to continue after the 6 minutes has elapsed.
The course will be set out with a start line and ten mandatory gates (two gate markers in a line and you need to drive between them) your time will stop when the rear wheels have cleared Gate 10. Every gate progressed will earn the driver minus 2 points but positive points will be accrued throughout the course for different actions (see ruleset in files section) with a maximum score of 20 points per gate. There will be 2 bonus gates that can be attempted and these will earn the driver a minus 5 points if progressed cleanly. It sounds more complicated than to actually is so don’t worry, this will be covered in the drivers briefing also. There will be a time keeper who calls out the penalties and a scorer for each course. Your score can be discussed with the marshalls before you walk off course, however they have final say and once it has been passed to the bookkeeper there can be no changes.
Please respect the marshalls, timekeepers, scorers etc, they are all volunteering their time to make sure you have good day.
The running order will be finalised and published closer to the event and will be random generated, it is the driver’s responsibility to make sure they are present at the right course start line and ready to drive at the right time. You will only be called ONCE, if you miss your run you may well get DISQUALIFIED.
We have access to the whole of Bracken Rocks, which is a great crawling location, so feel free to have a wander around and crawl to your hearts content, however, the site is MASSIVE and I can’t shout that loud so if you miss your slot because you are at the far end of the site its not the Marshall’s fault.
At the end of you run, hand your score sheet in to the designated bookkeeper so it can be logged for the morning runs (you will get it back for you second run), then do the same after your second run. If you don’t hand your scoresheet in then you won’t get it recorded and you could miss out on a trophy!
Health and Safety
There are toilets on site but NO food provision or charging facilities. If you are field charging, batteries must be charged in LiPo safe charging bags and not left un-attended. Any batteries left charging un-attended will be disconnected on health and safety grounds. The site is a woodland, grassy, rocky mix of crawling goodness so please make sure you wear suitable footwear, there have been accidents in the past where mountain rescue have been needed to evacuate a casualty and that will not help your scorecard!
Again it’s the UK and Derbyshire so even if your chosen weather app says it’ll be fine and sunny all day I’d still pack a rain coat just in case as there is very little shelter.
Everyone must take personal responsibility for their own possessions and property there have been incidents at other crawling events where items have been stolen from an unlocked car. Very sad to think people in this community would sink that low but it happens, so if you leave anything un-attended you do so at your own risk.
There will be a zero tolerance approach to any illegal substances on site, you will be told to leave immediately and will not receive a refund.
Lastly I hope everyone has a great day and look forward to seeing you all there.
