Join the People’s Joy Parade and Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign for a Parade and People’s Hearing on April 27th, from 11-3pm.
What: a celebration of the clean energy future we want and a condemnation of Ameren’s continued commitment to fossil fuels. We will use community, art, and our voices to fight for the clean energy future we deserve.
Who: you! This is a family event - bring the kids!
When: April 27th from 11-3
Why: Ameren proposed keeping their superpolluting Labadie coal-fired power plant open until 2042. The plant is the second-largest in the country to operate without modern pollution controls, and it is the second-deadliest power plant in the country. It’s time to stop burning coal and start building renewable energy to fuel our future!
How: registration required. Click here to register: http://sc.org/2makersws
We will have two Makers Workshops at the Thomas Dunn Learning Center in advance of our main event to make puppets, windsocks, signs, and other wearable, walkable artwork during the parade portion. Food and beverages will be provided by Sierra Club. Workshops are reserved for April 11th from 4-7 and April 25th from 4-7.
Thanks again for participating!
