People Powered, presented by FNBO, is an economic update focused on workforce development, education, housing, and transportation. This event is designed to equip a range of businesses with more information and tools to prepare them for upcoming economic trends. Keynote speakers include leadership from the State Demographer's office and FNBO.

Keynote Speakers

Greg Totten is the Economist at the State Demography Office. Prior to joining the SDO in 2022, Greg spent over a decade working in affordable housing, specializing in the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. In addition to his work at the SDO, Greg also serves on the board of NEWSED Community Development Corporation. Greg has a B.A. in Ethics, History, and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, and is in the process of completing his M.A. in Economics from Colorado State University.

Kurt Spieler is the Senior Vice President of Investment Management and is responsible for developing and implementing investment strategies for the First National Advisers. This includes leading the asset allocation, equity, fixed income, and manager research committees. In addition, Kurt manages investment portfolios for high-net-worth and institutional clients. Kurt joined FNBO in 2005 and has 30+ years of experience including the portfolio management of mutual funds in emerging markets, core international, and U.S. moderate allocation.
