People of the Drum is a free outdoor concert featuring four drumming groups from different cultural traditions. The event will take place Sunday June 7th from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm in downtown Portland on SW Main next to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. This family-friendly event features live music, drumming and dance workshops. Scheduled performers include:
- Alex Addy & Woshishijee
- Mexica Tiahui
- Oregon Korean Performing Arts
- and Portland Taiko
A ticketed event, Danny Elfman’s Percussion Concerto, will take place at 2:00 pm inside the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Discounted "rush" tickets (50% off) will be available at our event. Look for the Oregon Symphony table on Main Street.
The event is supported by the City of Portland Office of Arts and Culture and the Arts Access Fund.
