This Moving and Handling People Train the Trainer Level 3 course combines online learning with a face-to-face practical assessment and micro-teach session at The Mandatory Training Group’s Coventry Training Centre. This course is also known as Moving and Assisting People Train the Trainer and is designed for you with relevant health and social care experience who need to train others safely and confidently, within clear governance arrangements.
After purchase, you will receive immediate access to the online learning component through ComplyPlus™ LMS. This covers core moving-and-handling knowledge, trainer responsibilities, safer-handling principles, risk assessment, assessment requirements, and quality-assurance expectations. Once you have completed the online learning and knowledge assessment, you can attend the Coventry practical session to demonstrate competence, complete practical assessment activities and deliver a short micro-teach.
This course supports trainers and organisations in building internal moving-and-handling training capacity while maintaining clear role boundaries, evidence of trainer competence, and quality assurance arrangements.
No certificate is issued after completion of the online element alone. Certification is issued only after successful completion of all required online, practical assessment and micro-teach elements.

Refresher training
The certificate for this People Moving and Handling Train-the-Trainer course is valid for 3 years unless a different validity period applies.
Earlier refresher training may be required if:

- The employer requires more frequent updates
- The learner has not delivered training for a significant period

How this blended course works
Part 1: Online learning
After purchase, you will receive access to the online knowledge component via ComplyPlus™ LMS. This covers moving and handling principles, trainer responsibilities, risk assessment, safer practice, assessment principles and course-specific knowledge required before attending the practical session.
You must complete the online course and pass the online knowledge assessment before attending the face-to-face practical session.
Part 2: Practical assessment and micro-teach
During the practical session at our Coventry Training Centre, you will demonstrate subject-specific practical competence, complete trainer-led activities, practise delivery skills and deliver a short micro-teach session.
The practical session includes observation, feedback and competence sign-off by an experienced trainer/assessor.
Classroom practical session
During the People Moving and Handling face-to-face session, you will complete practical trainer development activities, including:
