About this Event

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an event where people come together to discuss and find ways to solve problems – in this case, all about people management.

Here’s how it works: you’ll move between themed discussion tables alongside a small group of your peers; each table will be hosted by leading researchers who specialise in different areas of people management. Throughout the half day event, you will take part in three rounds of discussions (45 minutes each).

At each table, you’ll get an overview of practical research on a topic including:

  • Workplace wellbeing
  • Conflict resolution
  • HR business partnering
  • Distributed leadership
  • Job crafting
  • Return to work after illness

You’ll have the chance to ask questions, explore real challenges, and take away actionable insights that can make a difference in your organisation.

Co-hosted by the ESRC PrOPEL Hub (University of Strathclyde) and the CIPD, this collaborative format makes the day dynamic, engaging, and relevant - with opportunities to connect with peers and learn from different perspectives.

Lunch is included, giving you even more time to share ideas and expand your network.

Who should attend?

HR professionals, people managers, and organisational leaders looking for research-driven insights into workplace productivity and people management.

You are very welcome to attend on your own or , with colleagues from your organization. Please make sure that each person registers individually.
