Join us for the Premiere Event of People In Your Neighborhood! Watch the first 25 videos about local people and their careers! Each episode features a local professional AND a local child artists artwork! There will be hors d'oeuvres, photo backdrops, and all People In Your Neighborhood Curriculum will be on display! Come enjoy this free event, learn about how this program can be used in classrooms and daycares to learn about different people in their neighborhood that they might see in their day to day lives.
People In Your Neighborhood is an engaging educational video series designed to introduce children to the many careers and people that make up the world around them. Each episode features individuals from a wide variety of professions and backgrounds, helping children explore the important roles people play in their communities every day.
This program introduces children to a wide variety of helpers that they might encounter such as Police Officer and Firefighter as well as medical professionals they might need such as Nurse Practitioner, Occupational Therapist, Audiologist, Optometrist, and Podiatrist.
They will get introduced to jobs that are mostly outside, like a Journeyman Lineman, some jobs that are inside and outside, such as Robotics Engineer and Artist, and jobs that take place mostly inside, like Manufacturing and Production Line Workers, Podcaster, Museum Director, Attorney, and Website Designer.
Children will be introduced to different jobs in the community where they might visit, such as Librarian, Animal Shelter Director, Park Ranger, Barber, Mechanic, or Baker.
The series highlights careers across all fields and education levels. The program celebrates diversity by including people of different abilities, backgrounds, experiences, and paths to success, showing children that there are many ways to build a meaningful future.
