The night will begin with a guided improvisation, followed by a few minutes of free writing and finish with a structured group improvisation.
PEOPLE
Mary Catherine Jack is an Ottawa based independant dance artist. She is passionate about movement and takes great joy in sharing this passion with others. She divides her career between teaching, creating and performing. Her current artistic exploration involves ideas around ecology, stewardship and reciprocity.
Franny Nudelman is a Professor in the English Department and the Institute for the Study of Literature, Art and Culture at Carleton University, where she teaches courses in US culture with a focus on militarism, social movements, and crisis documentary. She is the author, most recently, of Fighting Sleep: The War for the Mind and the US Military (Verso Books), and her writing on sleep, trauma and war resistance has appeared in Literary Hub, BBC Science Focus, Process: A Blog for American History. She is currently writing a book about wood-based art and wartime ecocide.
Jocelyn Todd (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer, multi-disciplinary artist, arts administrator, dance teacher, student, restaurant worker and, previously, festival producer currently working in so-called Ottawa.
Pierre‑Luc Clément is a multi-instrumentalist, sound designer, director and conceptual artist. A founding member of the experimental music group FET.NAT, he is actively involved in the region’s artistic and community scene.
