PEO Willowdale-Thornhill: Education in Virtual Environments
About this Event
Overview
Failure is often treated as something to avoid, but in learning, design, engineering, and professional practice, it is often the mechanism through which mastery is developed.
This interactive session explores how controlled failure, feedback, iteration, and recalibration can strengthen professional judgment, confidence, and decision-making. Drawing on lessons from education, engineering technology, and immersive virtual environments, the presentation examines how simulation-based learning allows learners and professionals to test ideas, make mistakes safely, and improve through repeated practice.
The session will also include a live demonstration of Virtua’s immersive learning environment, GeoLab, as an example of how virtual environments can create safe spaces for applied learning, experimentation, and skill development.
